Man, that's another mistake Missan make by selling it only in Japan. That market is done, barely anyone can afford a parking space. Just sell 10 in Japan and the rest to US & Europe.
For the price increase, is better you spend the money mod. the current GT-R and get more out put. The spec. still good on the V.

But that's academic compared to the performance upgrade it will provide. If it's anything like what is being predicted it will be out off this world.

Turbo 911 still looks like a 911.
Z06 still looks like a Corvette.
CLK Black Series still looks like CLK.
M3 still looks like a 3 Series
Keep the model identification but give it more beef. It seems to work.
We enthusiasts can always tell the difference...that's all that really matters. Not many non-enthusiasts would buy these enhanced models anyway. The non-enthusiasts that do buy these models don't care anyway. They just want the most expensive top of the line model.

I have always liked the GT-R, but have never lusted after one, like for a Lamborgini gallardo for example.
That has changed now, that picture, of the Black Spec V on the track, ditiching the stock wheels, imagining with BBS LM's,( photoshop anyone?) I would lust after that car, and would take it over any Porsche GT3 or GT2!

I disagree that it should look more different. Stick with a successful formula.
Turbo 911 still looks like a 911.
Z06 still looks like a Corvette.
CLK Black Series still looks like CLK.
M3 still looks like a 3 Series

To be honest that 520hp was probably already there. Dyno's of stock GT-Rs are running 475hp at the wheels.
The boost change is only an overboost during mid to high speeds.
So you're basically paying a premium for lighter components (body panels and wheels), Recaro seats (removal of two), carbon ceramic brakes and an overboost function which doesn't really sound like it added much more power to the stock GT-R. 50k extra for that? That's like a 70% increase in price.
At least they could've made it look much different. The "titanium coated" exhaust sounds like they didn't even do anything to the exhaust. Why not a titanium exhaust system?
Now don't think I'm bashing the GT-R. 220lbs is significant. Lighter wheels make a huge difference. Carbon ceramic brakes are phenomenal on the track. The overboost function is probably very helpful for overtaking. I'm sure the GT-R's body is already very aerodynamic and changing it could make it worse but they're charging a bit too much. Not to say the Porsche GT2 is cheap... that thing is ridiculously priced as well but at least you get to say "I drive a Porsche."
Bottom line, still a "bargain" race car made easy to drive for non-race car drivers but Nissan is still making a fool of buyers and a huge margin.
That line about creating a new level of "oneness between man and machine" is hilarious. This car has ridiculous amounts of techno-gadgets to help it make those numbers.
