2010 Camaro production update- DELAY
Some news I came across:
New production date: March 16th, they have 10,000 pre-orders
However, Feb 15th was the last day for them to start production to make delivery in 2009, so this looks very optimistic. A major supplier (dashboard?) is in bankruptcy, so they now have to send the molds to a new supplier. Just one in a string of "issues" GM is touting on delay.
In fact, there was a video up on this from EVS Chevy/ Rick Conti/EVS Corvette to update their customers, but GM forced them to take it down, stating "proprietary" info...
Looking more bleak that this car ever gets made ...

One of GM's biggest mistakes was not having the Camaro ready, with the release of the movie transformers, they would of sold like hotcakes, even with silly markups. Now with this economic situation, only the truly hard core Camaro fans will buy them.

From our perspective, I agree that the new Camaro introduction should have been done earlier, and has been delayed too long.........but I think GM management looks upon it as a niche vehicle, despite the support of a block of hard-core fans. Right now, management is probably more concerned with the survival of the company as a whole than they are with niche products....though the Volt, very likely, shows the overall future path of the company.

who cares.... about this car anymore. it should have been launched in 2007. after seeing the concept for 5 years, its old before it even came out. of course the folks that like to drive around in circles won't mind, they like even more outdated designs so.

IMHO, Camaro is the best looking pony car to date for sale in this years market. At the San Jose car show it attracted more attention/people/photographers than any car or truck. The new Mustang looks dated and the Challenger too big in comparison.

And today's Challenger is more or less the size as the original one.
