Yeah this is really a bigger A5 sportback but we should not be surprised as they use the same style different size pattern over and over.

I'm not a fan of the fastback design on a 4 door. Really looks so heavy handed.

AND I really dislike Audi's approach of 1 design 4 sizes approach. If you can't tell the difference between an A4, A6, A8 other than scale, it makes me think the company is just too lazy. Give us choices in style, not size.

I think that GS and XF pulled off coupe roofline on a sedan the best so far.
They already have an A5 sportback in production.

While we have seen the headlights in various incarnations on the other models, I can't help but still fall in love with the little details in the headlight assembly.

And while I don't think it's terrible, do wish the real overhang was a bit less. To me that is what makes it a bit awkward, compared to some of these sketches:

The more I see of this car, the less impressed I am. Mercedes seems to still have the "4 door coupe" formula right, as the CLS and E class looked nothing alike in their day. This could easily be mistaken for any Audi sedan and IMO, doesn't actually look very coupe like - it's rather bland. They should have just saved this and called it the next A6...

Which Audi could this be mistaken for?

The A4, the new A8, probably the next A6, etc...

Even looking at them head on, while all of the cars retain the Audi DNA, there are subtle differences that distinguish them pretty easily.
Not to mention the side profile of the A7 is nothing like that of the A4/A8/A6...

They all look the same. Yeah there are some differences but even enthusiasts confuse them all.

This looks just like the A5 sportback. We just don't get it here.
