What's a E230? Didn't know it was available in the US.

E230 is a 2.5 litre V6 ......
There are E-class with 4-cylinder diesel engines, E200CDI & E220CDI.
There's also a E200 NGT that runs on natural gas.

I have friends that drive MB and BMW and they are always bragging how they get such a good deal at the dealership service centers, how "they always get hooked up on repairs" I then think to myself, wow thats really great you are on a first name basis with your dealer's mechanics, I never had to bring my Lexus in for warranty work in the whole 100,000 miles I owned it and then I just smile.

Hi,

I really need to change my location. I am from Maryland but I work and live in Germany.

The E230 is a 2.5 V6 with 204-horsepower and I believe it is only sold in Europe. It's not really slow despite the modest horsepower rating and heavy weight. 7-speed automatic transmission, baby.

Nothing wrong with having a good connection. I have a good friend who is a Lexus Master Tech who serviced both my GSs. Wish I had the same connection with MB.

Dustin - Thanks for the info. Yes, that's a sweet V6. I think the 2007 C230 had that engine here, I had one for a loaner car for a week.

I agree. Being on good terms with dealer service people is a good thing. They can (and sometimes do) good-will things for you even if they don't have to under warranty. I've seen it before. A good service manager is worth his/her weight in gold.

Ha Henry, you have no idea how much I miss our Lexus connection. Kind of took it for granted over the past 10 years.

When you decide to cross over to the dark side and get a AMG, we'll definitely start looking for a MB hook-up
