I just wanted to share this rare bird with the rest of the crew at Club Lexus. This my firends is the NSX-R GT from Spoon Motorsports in Japan. Now this car is not one of the original NSX-R GT cars. Only 5 of those cars were ever even produced ,and even that has been debated.
Spoons NSX-R GT starts with a NSX or NSX-R. Spoon then works its magic by stripping the entire car and rebuilding the car from the ground up with chasis reinforcements, carbon fiber bumpers, unique side air scoops, famous snorkel, and loaded with type R and special GT parts. All of these parts have been sourced directly from Honda. When they put the car back together its ends up weighing in at 2795 lbs. Thats 305 lbs less than a standard US NSX. They also boost the 280hp 3.2 liter C32B motor with an HKS 3037 turbo to a very respectable 420 hp. Spoon also went to work on the brakes, drivetrain, and the suspension. They added their own set of track coilovers and upgraded the brakes with Spoon monoblock brake calipers, slotted rotors, and braided steel brake lines. To add more bite and tolerance for abuse to the clutch they added a Spoon Sports metal clutch and pressure plate
Spoon offers the car for sale in very limited production numbers for $135,000. They can do US spec and JDM spec. These guys are so good they can build you an automatic NSX-R GT ( although I cant imagine that they will even sell one automatic). In my opinion for $135,000 this car is a solid buy. Its a ground up restored NSX or NSX-R that has the motor boosted, suspension and brakes tweaked, and full aero enhancement and weight reduction.
Just wanted to share the car with you guys and hope you like the pics as well.![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
The car in the first picture is not the Spoon car. Its the actual NSX-R GT. I just wanted to give you guys a reference point to what they were trying to replicate in the build. The original 5 were sold for $500,000 each.( Thats just nuts)

Spoon had to fit the turbo kit ( Turbo, up and down pipe, exhaust manifolds, and intercooler ducting into a pretty small space. They boosted a car that wasnt designed with a buch of space in the engine bay. It was never offered with a larger engine

They are comparing this car to a tuned R35 GTR. This thing is no joke. It would probably run a Viper or Z06 down if they are comparing the Mines R35 to the Spoon NSX-R GT.

I just watched the track footage of the Mines R35 GTR VS the Spoon NSX-R GT and the Mines GTR beat it by less than a second. The GTR had a 130hp advantage, but also weighs 1000lbs more. The GTR had the AWD advantage and the decade of technology. I am insanely impressed with the abilities of both of these cars
