Default Took the plunge... bought a BMW 545 sport.

First off, I really wanted to stay with Lexus, but NO current Lexus impressed me in either looks or driving (with the exception of the IS-F). So I was forced to look at other brands. Almost bought a S55 AMG then opted out due to the crazy maintanence. I test drove the LS430 and thought I would fall in love but I honestly was so disappointed. I was thinking it would be a huge improvement over our old LS400. Not much at all. I would slam the gas and it was no where near the speed I was looking for. I drove a 545 sport and fell in love with it. With the sport package, it handles like a dream. I'm selling my SC now so if anyone is interested let me know. Anyways heres a pic

Nice buy. Out of curiosity, did you try a GS 460?

I love the current 5 series. The damn thing looks dropped at the stock ride height. I wish the japanese would learn how to eliminate the wheel gap from the factory while still providing a completely stock ride feel. very cool

Congrats on your 5. I was so amazed by my father's 530i's steering feel. How could such a big car feel so light and nimble? I am sure your 545i feels even punchier and peppier.

Nice choice.

I agree with you about Lexus' not having a car that competes with this. This is why they need to extend the F lineup and add a new series GS model and the LF A.

You looked at the AMG but chose a much less powerful car. Are you going to mod your 5 and turn it into a real beast?

P.S. Glad you liked the F!

The steering feel is great in virtually all BMW products.

Congragulations on the 545i. I reviewed, by CL request, a 550i a couple of years ago, and found it a superb sports sedan. The 545 is virtually the same car....I don't think you will have many complaints with it, although I find the I-Drive system tedious and annoying to use, especially while driving.

Some users here have commented that the "steering feel" of BMW products makes them tired and hurt. I don't agree.
