Decision Time: 05 Maserati Coupe vs 02/03 NSX
Ok.. I've been hell bent on acquiring an NSX, and here we are,... got a buyer for the 06 GS300,... and was out surfing, and ran across the MASERATI COUPE CAMBRIOCORSA. I am not totally knowledgeable about the car,.. I know it's a 100hp more powerful than the comparably priced Acura, and has a Ferrari engine derivative.
What worries me is, I am not sure how reliable these cars are vs the Acura, and the cost of maintanence vs the Acura vs what I've been doing with Lexus.
Any insight??? The Maserati actually looks like a better "all around" car,... better interior, more "creature features", and more powerful.

the nsx will be the more reliable car ( the engine is a tweaked accord engine) it will be cheep to fix because its a honda. while the masserati is all ferrari and those are nightmare's to maintain and fix. but when looking at a sports car fuel economy and a reliability arent my main concern

What's really the purpose of this car? If you really want the Acura, go for it, and don't bother worrying about anything else.
If you only like the maserati because it's got 100 more hp and a ferrari engine, then don't bother.

BMW SMG and Ferrari maintenance for about the same straight line performance as an NSX yet softer GT handling. I think you can do better. Instead, I'd be looking at a 996 turbo or even an M5 (v10) as a contender in that price range.
Heck, even new IS-F's are under 50k if you want a fast 4 seater.

I was more after "rare" factor, reliability to some degree, and performance.
The NSX is all of those, ...performance can obviously be better. The Maserati has a lot of appeal, but from what I know, the aftermarket realm is limited, the maintanence is expensive and quite frequent with an unheard of depreciation rate.
The interior looks a lot better than an NSX,.. but I think like the exterior design of an NSX better.
I'm thinkin' I'm goin for the Acura... don't want to buy a money pit of a vehicle with no way out if I should decide to sell.

After taking a look at the Maserati Coupe definately go for the NSX. I hate the way the CAMBRIOCORSA looks. Once you hear that 8000rpm screamy behind your ears in the NSX you won't even think about that Maserati. Plus the mainteance on the car is not too bad unless you need a clutch. Man I still think about that car at least once a week.

No brainer for me. The NSX has exotic looks and Japanese reliability. ALthough you have to remember it's an older car so there could be lot's of things that need to be changed or updated. Parts are designed to last only so long. After that, you'll have that Acura reliability.
As cool as the Maserati is, no way I'd buy a car that will constantly need repairing. Unless it was a third car driven only once a week.
