Not sure where I should post this but I've seen an LS400 I like that is on the west coast. I'm in Maryland. How would this work?
I know I can have an independent inspection but what's the best way to get it to Maryland? How is it normally handled?

Is the car being sold by a dealer or an individual seller? If dealer, then the car can be temp registered out in Cali (temp tags) and then you can fly out there and drive tha car back to Md yourself. If independent seller, then you may not have the option of driving it back, unless you get temp registration from that state. You can also hire an Auto transport company and have the car shipped to MD as well. Normally, this is a cost of $500 - $1000 to have done(could be more depending on company). What part of MD are you in? Drop down to the NELOC section and intro yourself.

You will get an inspection, anyway, in MD, before you can register it there. MD requires safety-inspections at the initial sale and whenever the car is bought or sold, unlike neighboring VA (where I live) where yearly safety inspections are required regardless of owner. If you live in a part of MD near D.C. or Baltimore, you also may need a bi-yearly emissions test as well.
