hmmm I like certain parts of both cars...the headlights look better on the Honda, the taillights look better on the Prius, and the interior goes to Prius hands down....but both cars are well ugly

"EPA fuel economy figures have not been released, but Honda says they'll come in at 40 mpg city, 43 mpg highway and 41 mpg combined. Yes, the 2009 (not the new 2010 model) Prius is rated higher at 46 mpg combined. But the non-linear nature of the mpg unit means a 5-mpg difference in this rarified region is less meaningful. In a 15,000-mile driving year, it amounts to 40 gallons — $80 at current fuel prices. We ran our Insight EX against a 2009 Prius in a 197-mile suburban fuel economy loop near Phoenix, and the Insight returned 51.5 mpg to the Prius' 54.4 mpg. Not too shabby."

Hopefully the interior isn't too bad in person. I've noticed Honda has been trying too hard lately with interior. We all love curves, lines, and attention to detail, but it seems as if Honda only had a straight ruler when they design the interior. I really dislike circular vents aside from those found in supercars.

honda insight is clearly 2-3 steps backward from Gen3 Prius... I hope that price will be at least 5-6k smaller for similary equiped vehicle.
From smaller hyrbid than Honda Civic (13hp only, less battery capacity) which will be worse in the city, to 1.3l engine that wont be efficient on the highway, and with 6" smaller wheelbase, it is not even Corolla competitor... Lets not even mention interior quality, which looks like chinese-toy grade hard plastics.
You guys need to check high res Prius pictures... high grade perforated leather, soft plastics as in new Avensis, even hard platics that have to be hard are grained, rear hatch carpeted completly... it looks like they have moved Prius to Avensis type interior (better than Camry), where before it was somewhere between Yaris and Corolla.
