Its Infiniti, not Infinity
If you go to the yahoo homepage, there is a box that says "Check out 2009 luxury sedans" and one of the cars (G37 looks like) is "Infinity"
Another blooper with the spelling, on Yahoo's homepage of all places!
Infiniti really needs to slap people around for spelling it wrong.
Its amazing how after 20 years people still don't bother, don't care, or don't know how to spell the brand correctly.
When I was at a Discount Tire to get Tires put on (yes a tire place) they spelled INFINITY on the torque spec sheet! (I even took a pic). This is an automotive business!!!
Every car forum (including Infiniti/Nissan) has people, including owners that spell it wrong! It doesn't help they use the worse letters in the alphabet to name their cars.
You can see the name spelled wrong on auto reviews as well. This is NOT a new brand.
I mean really, its not that hard. Its Infiniti.

SPell it with me!

But the Infiniti badge does look like a mathematical symbol infinity.
I think the Nissan might have related this "infinity symbol" while designing their luxury car badge back in 1989 or so.

Its because people spell words the way they pronounce it. They may know that it is Infiniti, but if you are typing quickly, there is a tendency to spell it Infinity. I've seen a car magazine spell it both ways, Infiniti and Infinity in the same paragraph. Evidently, they know it is Infiniti but still made the mistake.
But yeah, it annoys me too. Nissan should have come up with a better name than Infiniti. There are too many things with that name, from speakers to condominiums (seen this in many places). Lexus, on the other hand was well thought of.
