Keep in mind that the lower price would also reflect the US spec version missing some of the goodies in the KDM version (just like the Genesis).
Some beancounter figured that those in the market for the Equus in Korea (old fogies) don't like bold, aggressive styling (too bad).

definitely that's the new Equus. look at how similar it is to the concept drawing. basically the side will have that swooping lines, but less exaggerated for production. i can't wait till see some more pics.

It looks like customers will be able to choose from the multiple grille designs available.
Hyundai has an underdog vibe working for them. Bringing out a luxury brand would take that away and force them to price their cars higher.
