Or are they using a "car" engine?
Its gotta be unless its an "Eco-boost" version of the V8. 400hp out of a 5L V8 on a 3-valve motor is going to have a powerband too peaky for truck-duty. Maybe they meant the 6.2L since they reference it later in the article.

(No, I've never owned a pickup truck, and I was raised a Chevy fan, but no one can argue the F-150's sales dominance.)
I thought the GM/GMC pickup truck sells more than the F150?

Nope. GM sells more total units than Ford as a whole, but Ford sells more trucks. There was a thread with the numbers about a month ago.

it's also things like construction and stuff being down so no one's buying newer trucks when there's no new jobs

I think you maybe right but the F series counts the F150, 250, 350 etc as total sells. Fords markets the F series as the most successful truck and not just the F 150

............everybody spins the numbers so they look most favorable to themselves...

I'm pretty sure the Silverado/Sierra combo sells more the equivalent F150 model....but whatever.

I don't believe GM counts 2500/3500 etc models with the 1500. I could be wrong.
