Know this one isnt car related, but interesting all the same. Was at work (drive 18 wheelers) in Aurora, IL. Had just made late night delivery to my customer and was leaving their facility. Was snowing and had been snowing in the area for a few days beforehand. Snow was coming down hard and really starting to cover the streets. I had to descend a hill to get back to the main street in order to get back to the highway. While in the process of creeping down the hill (under 5 mph), look over my left shoulder and realize that the back end of the trailer is taking a hard swing to the left, and is about to swing around to meet me if I dont counteract it. Gased on the accelerator, threw the 4 way blinkers on, and did some tricks with the steering wheel to keep the back end from getting in front of me. As I approached the intersection at the bottom of the hill, still sliding sideways for the most part, LEANED on the air horn (thank goodness my light was still green but had changed to red but not b4 traffic opposing me saw what was happening and they didnt move). Bottom line, slid threw an intersection in a tractor trailer, sideways, before coming to rest at the bottom of the hill. I finally get my truck straightened out, pulled over to the side to collect my nerve when there is a knock on my door. Aurora PD handing me 5 tickets for the following:
A. Failure to stop for a signaling device.
b. Unsafe driving/obsessive speed
c. Failure to maintain vehicle control
d. Reckless endangerment
e. Illegal display of "racing" activity in a Commercial vehicle
These tickets came to a grand total of $1800(tickets in ANYcommercial vehicle are always more sky high than a regular car). What was even worse was the cop had seen what had happened to me the entire time, as he was in a Starbucks parking lot when I went by it. showed no sympathy for the fact that I told him that the truck was empty (doesnt take much to lose control in the snow while empty, especially on hills) and I was trying to avoid a jackknife situation, and even complimented me on my actions. Gave the tickets to my lawyer and they were dismissed in court.

Speeding in a boat when I was 15 , 6 knotts in a 4 knott zone! Went to court and contested that he had no way of telling I was going two knotts over the speed limit, I got the fine doubled $350 and had to pay all court costs which totalled over $600. I was pretty pissed with that outcome so I got my dad to appeal (Lawyer) and all tickets and costs were dropped. My advise , don't represent yourself...

This happened last Thanksgiving night. It had snowed the night before, and it was my first winter in the SC. I was waiting to turn left at a light. Every time I've been at this light before, the turn arrow turns green at the same time as the going straight lights. Not this time, but I didn't notice. I started to go anyway, but then realized that it was still red. It was 1am, so there was NOBODY around, so I just decide to go through. I gave it some gas and spun out on the gravel that the plows throw down on the highways. I'm facing the wrong way now, so I turn around and continue on my way. Then I get pulled over by some douchebag cop who thought I was doing doughnuts in the intersection. I got like a 300 dollar ticket and 6 points. I had to go back to school too, so there was no way to fight it in court.

i was drivng my gs400 on the freeway going home. saw the cop getting on the freeway. stayed at my 65mph and passed the cop. right after i passed the cop i noticed he was gonna pull me over... and it happened.
i got pulled over in San Jose, Ca for code: VC 24002(a) Unsafe vehicle condition
reasons:
* wheels stick out 6 inches from vehicle side
* incorrect wheels for vehicle
* incorrect tire size for wheels
wheels dont stick out 6 inches. cop totally exaggerated. Didnt know i could get tickets for something like this.. haha..
whats your most interesting ticket?

man Tony stop lying, u know u was trying to drift that bad boy .
Why wasn't the cop smart enough to write a ticket that could stick...
Turned the tickets over to a prepaid legal service that I use, and all of them were dismissed based on road conditions, and witness tertimony of my trying to do all to protect the safety of the public..

I was in my 99 LS400
Reason at the window: Suspicious drug/gang activity ... on the highway? I let him search every inch of my car... he gave up. I didn't understand it very much. Plus he was out of his District... he was in a Campus police car and wasn't even near the place. We are talking a good 20 miles out.
Ticket was for: Not signaling to pull over and a rear license plate bulb being out... which I contested him for at the window. I pointed at the Odometer and said "This cool little gadget tells me when bulbs are out on my car." Then walked the officer to the rear of the car and sure enough both bulbs were lit.
All charges were dropped. Maybe he was tired of being a security guard and was desperate to make a bust to try and make it into the police force?

Got pulled over 5 yrs ago in my Z by a rookie sheriff on VTA patrol. Funny thing is we were following each other for quite a distance, even overtaking one another above 75mph. He finally decided to pull me over after I went about 80mph to avoid oncoming traffic from an on-ramp on I-880. He gave me a ticket for speeding, no front plate and an illegal exhaust, which was completely legal. After signing off on the ticket, I noticed he put my birthdate as the date of the citation. I looked at him and said, "I'll see you in court!" Ten months later, the case was dropped as he couldn't remember giving out the ticket. I definitely had to fight this one as it was my 3rd ticket in less than a year. Now that my wife and I have a toddler, my driving habits has tremendously changed .
