I just watched the 2009 Detroit Auto Show on TV today and a commercial appeared saying that Countyline Lexus in South Florida is closing it's doors forever after 20 years. I wonder if it's because of the economy?

That's right, it becomes Lexus of North Miami, it's slated to be the largest Lexus dealer in the country with over 1 million square feet. 116 service bays and a 4 story parking complex to hold 2,000 vehicles.
The exact address for the new dealer is
14100 Biscayne Boulevard
North Miami, FL 33181
I went by it a few weeks ago and it is just plain enormous. I used to think the Lexus dealer out at West Kendall was something, but this place looks like a castle. Can't wait to see it in person.

I took a look at a map of where the Lexus dealers are located, and having grown up in South Florida, I think the placement of the dealers is pretty much dead-on.
Lexus of Kendall is right up the street and that serves a pretty good area in Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay and Coral Gables, upper middle class. This dealer was with Lexus from the start.
Lexus of West Kendall is also appropriately situated because it serves Kendall, which is an enormous area of west Dade County and yet is far enough from Lexus of Kendall. This area will continue to grow all the way out to 177th avenue and probably another high school will be built out there. I've seen some very impressive middle to upper class housing development out there. It's a beautiful dealership right by Tamiami Airport.
Lexus of North Miami makes sense, because you get a lot of the areas of SE Broward and also the Miami Beaches, Aventura, etc.
NW Dade also has a lot of new housing development along with SW Broward, Weston, and that's handled well by Pembroke Pines.
JM is appropriately situated and pretty much takes care of the rest of Broward County (now you know why did they do all the business they do), because Lexus of Palm Beach is more than 30 miles away and Pembroke Pines about 25 miles or so.

Countyline Lexus is where my GS430 was originally purchased. Glad they are not closing and just moving. The Lexus dealer where I am at is remodeling and moving to a bigger building. The current location was nothing special and the waiting room/sales center was not really any nicer or more upscale then the Toyota dealership so I am glad they are finally going into a bigger building which should be much nicer.

Very cool info on the map there...btw this is Countyline Lexus' website...looking at the virtual tour, some elements seem circa 1989, so it's a good thing they are relocating and upgrading. Here's what the rendering of the new dealership looks like:

The thread title could add "moving to new locale"

I remember many years ago even Lexus of Kendall right up the street from expanded their current facilities, which look much nicer and modern than I remember when I was growing up down here.
