Default Just called Lexus Roadside Assistance.....

Well..I had a nail in my tire and they charged me $35 bucks to plug it?

Perhaps I may be be mistaken, but shouldn't this have been a complimentary service?

06' GX470 still covered under the factory warranty...

thanks in advance for any and all replies..

Most factory warranties do not cover "wear and tear" items(belts, hoses, tires, brake pads, etc). Tires fall under this category. If you were stranded on the road with a mechanical breakdown, ran out of gas (possibly). I am not throughly familiar with the parameters of the roadside assistance b/c my car was well out of warranty when I got it.

A tire change to the spare is complimentary. Now from my understanding you call Lexus and they call an area towing service to help. Thus the charge from that company.

You probably can be reimbursed from your own insurance company, just fax them a receipt and they will write you a check.

it was not a tire change, it was a tire PLUG...as there was a nail in the tire...But I was still under the impression that it was complimentary...

They are supposed to fix the tire if it was due to "road hazards," up to 30,000 KM on OEM tires (at least on my GS this is the case). I called them yesterday for assistance, and they said it would take 2 hours to get to me, and this is IF the tow truck driver could make it...so there was no guarantee they would come...what a joke. I am in Vancouver, not some remote logging road in the Rockies. I ended up putting on the spare and just driving on it. Will take it to the dealer in the morning and give them a piece of my mind. Overall, the service is a joke...

Roadside is free for them to go out to you, but not to perform repairs. If you blew out 4 tires, and roadside took you back to the dealer to repalce them, it wouldn't be free.

If you called a tow service, they would have charged you just to come out and/or for the tow, PLUS the cost of the repair.

Youch! I'm so out of warranty I've never called Lex Roadside; I've got a few tow truck guys I call depending on where I'm at in the GVRD.
