The single reason why I like the IS-C over the G37-convert is body variation.
The G37 literally just chopped the top, leaving no distinct changes from the coupe beyond the folding top. It's a bit uninspired and "been there, done that".
However, the IS-C has different taillights, fog lights, body kit, wheels, seats, and roofline. Although polarizing, at least Lexus is fresh...

And don't argue about the butt. Both have high trunks...

The big butt problem for both is the result of the large folding hard top that must be hidden under the trunk lid, always a design challenge when doing a 4 seater. Also I think the IS butt is taller with more rear overhang, not especially attractive.
But when I saw both cars in the same room, the G looked better and not as butt heavy.

well, BMW certainly knows how to style down the rear-end
That's the car I'll take out of these three.

Still has a pretty bad rear overhang though.

Looks great. Is that a soft or hardtop shown in the BMW pic?

The
2IS platform, silly.
Which is a shortened and modified RWD 3GS platform.
Camry/Solara are FWD...

That's the hardtop.
The 1-Series and 6-Series still use soft-tops. The new Z4 will have a hardtop...

I am with Philip where I do like the IS-C from the rear straight on. The G37 looks like a bigger SC 430 to me.

neither.
the IS-c looks like 2 halves of 2 different cars glued together in the middle.
both designs fail. ISc fails more.
