Smile 2009 Toyota 4runner price check

Hey guys, I'm doing a favor for a friend(girl) researching a new 2009 4runner vehicle to purchase.

Just want to ask if anyone were planning to/bough a 2009 4runner? If so, what price they did quote you for 2WD, no 3rd seat, but leather maybe.

I'm doing research on edmunds, checking local dealer Craigslist price.

Greatful for any opinion or advice.

Thanks
-A

I would at least get the 4wd option.

You have two choices in powertrain. The 4.7 which is likely at the end of its lifecycle and the 4.0. My parents have a 4.7 Limited full time 4wd. Excellent vehicle.

Yea, if I were buying the vehicle, then I choose 4WD. But this is for a girl, so she want only basic 2WD, V6, cause of gas?

I'm not even sure Toyota would replace 4runner, haven't see any concept/model on for 4runner.

Ahaha, yes sir. Im also looking at RX that just incase if I can convince her to go for RX.
I honestly prefer RX since she don't do hard-core stuff, and great luxury standard.

I was going for Accord, until i had a great offer on IS.

It makes no sense to buy a SUV without 4wd. Thats just my opinion. Convince her

New GX and 4runner should be right around the corner. My guess is that at the Chicago auto show we may see them. I believe the 4runner is the oldest vehicle in the Toyota line up right now and the GX is the second oldest.

The new V8 will be used in the 4runner, GX, Tundra and Sequoia. Toyota is going to stop making the 4.7 in Alabama come March. Which means they will likely start getting the new engine ready for the Tundra/Sequoia.

So far, 2500 cash back for 2008 4runner. Some dealer haven't got the 2009, i guess cause they dont' want to have it period.

RX, well I know i missed the deal on that during December period. Not sure what they have for lexus deal right now.

So far, 24k for V6 2WD. from 30k MSRP

RX has 5,000 in "marketing support" that goes to the dealers on the 09 RX's.

No incentives on the Venza right now. But probably still cheaper regardless.

The buyer lives in Cali... they have no need for 4WD if they're never going off road. No need to waste money on the vehicle cost, gas, future repairs/maintenance, and hinder vehicle performance with something that's never going to be used.

When is the new 4runner coming out BTW? I would have assumed the 2010 model year but I haven't heard anything yet. Surely by 2011.

2009 is the last year for the current design on 4runner. So wait a year gap, and then 2011. But they have have the A-BAT? remeber that hybrid combo SUT.

Future 4runner might have option 3.5V6 since they will try to get the average. mileage.

Dealers not ordering that much 09 4Runner, mainly leftover 08.

The 4runner should be coming out Oct 2009 as a 2010 model. The 2010 GX should be out just after Christams 2009. Toyota will have a new V8 for both of these models. IRS should be present.

if she dont do hard-core stuff, stop helping her

kidding aside, go with the RX. It's easier on gas too.
