On the heavy side is an under statement. The luxury cars of today weigh as much as old work trucks did from 50 years ago. I still highly doubt with US safety regulations that they would be able to shave 440 lbs off a car that was already stripped. I think they are reaching. Maybe its more like 40.4 kg.

Hey, there has never been a GT2 RS. The only ones ever badged that way are from independent tuners.

No one is better at Porsche at continuously evolving a car. There is nothing else like a 911.

Don't forget our tubby F's.

The 911 still remains, after all these years, one of the sexiest and coolest cars on the road.

As much as the R35 GT-R has impressed me with it's capabilities, Nissan most likely does not realize what it got itself into when it was beating it's chest about the GT-R's superiority over various Porsche models.

Porsche is legendary for a reason, just as the 911 is legendary for a reason. It really does seem that Nissan has gotten Porsche mad, and I don't think this is going to be pretty for Nissan. All this GT-R gloating has likely pushed Porsche to focus more and intensify it's effort on future 911 models.

If a 997 GT2 RS did come out with such rumoured specs, it would be not just a GT-R or likely ZR-1 killer, it would quite likely be a GT-R Spec-V killer too.

I also expect the 998 Turbo to be a GT-R killer when it comes out. You can be sure Porsche is putting in a lot of effort to make that happen.

we are comparing a race model to a street model. The V - spec will **** all over the GT2. Believe that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nissan new what it was getting into when it started the global smack down. SPEC V >>>>>>>>>>> GT2 RS

struggling to see where they can find 440lbs to drop off without major and expensive modification. The GT2 is a nice vehicle (and an RS version is WOW), but its been getting whooped on in comparison reviews by regular Lambo's and Ferrari's. I was expecting more from this vehicle.

when you read the article in the autoblog web site they say that this car is just a rumor. Not holding my breath. I thought something sounded a little crazy when they said they shaved off 440 lbs off the already releatively light weight GT2

You're kidding right? The GT2 already is just a few seconds shy of the GT-R's best 'Ring time. A GT2 RS with such rumoured specs will be a bigger upgrade from a regular GT2 than a Spec V will be compared to a regular GT-R. The Spec-V has nothing substantial in terms of weight savings or power increases over a regular GT-R.

gt2 is "light"?! are you kidding me? at 3800 how can you call something LIGHT?

gt3 has the mentality of light when they designed the car, the gt2 has been more about power
