I do like how he pauses when he looks at the ES.

I thought it was bloody brilliant!!! I had heard of it but waited to watch it on TV. Its not the first time Audi has shot at BMW/Benz/Lexus in recent ads. I say bravo, it was in good taste and made the point.
Benz/BMW/Lexus ARE the top luxury brands in America. Audi wants to either join them or be the "other good choice". Every other brand simply doesn't matter. Period. (of course not counting exotics)
The look at the ES was MAGNIFICENT!!! I texted an A8 bud and he thought it was funny too.

speaking of which, the A6 site tie-in says for the 1990's:
"And a Toyota...claims to be luxury."

They go on to say the 2000's are for Audi. One note, the 2000's are almost out, 2 years left...IMO BMW/Mercedes/Lexus did pretty well in the 2000s as well.

I'm wondering if this 'Lexus = old and = Toyota" dig will work. With some, perhaps. But the average age is not far different from the others, in the 50's (not past 60's as some claim). Still, Mr. Statham didn't bother to drive the ES, not that it would have helped per se.

Haha, probably.
So the digs are in but only for those in the know...

While I love the ad, it confirms Audi was irrelevant those 3 decades.
