Car looks good, nice power too. That being said, it's priced about 7k too high.

Agreed.....but it probably will not sell for full list, especially after it has been on the market a few months.

I don't care for the new styling as much as on the present Taurus-Sable. The headlights and tail deck on the new model, IMO, are swept too much. I like the more conservative look on the current model.

Interesting question......but first, not everyone wants a sport sedan. The MKS will probably ride more comfortably, though not handle as well. Second, the MKS has wood trim inside, for those who like wood....the SHO probably won't. Third, my guess is (but we won't know until the SHO comes out) insurance may be lower on the MKS...the SHO will probably be considered a high-performance car by the insurance companies.

The SHO, though, does seem to be an interesting package. I will probably review it when it comes out. It looks like potentially a good competitor to the Pontiac G8 GT, Chevy Impala SS and the Dodge Charger R/T, although the Pontiac anc Dodge are RWD. The Pontiac's G8's future is also in doubt.

Man the old SHO was a blast to drive!

And interior is sick as well!

I say 38k is high to but what the hell is cheap these days anymore? A v-6 camry can run 30k+

Wow the SHO is back in V6 form.. Impressive HP numbers for the 6.. Ford is is bringing back hot rod performance with a blend of fuel economy..

Ford Fusion should be next.. Remember the Contour SVT of the early 90's?

I recall walking on the lot and being like whoa, what is that? Where I grew up you did not see euro cars everyday so that was the closest thing you seen like a BMW.

Slight body kit, the rims, low profiles, it was sweet!!!

That's a pretty high price, and doesn't strike me as particularly awesome.
Warm.

It does seemed to be priced competitively - but that's a lot of dough for a Taurus no two ways about it. I really like the design of the car and the interior is sharp. The specs seem very promising as well and Ford has really stepped up the feel and quality of their newer generation cars.

But here's why the $38k price bothers me:

How will the car be in 3 years? 5 years? A complete rattle trap? And then there's resale value. I realize that resale value for a lot of cars is in the crapper due to the economy, but will it be worth the same as a comparable Acura TL in 3 years?

I don't think so Tim...

If the cars turn out to be well put together and aren't falling apart, heck - I'd certainly consider picking up one used, it should be a heck of a deal!

Have secretly loved the SHO Taurus and I remember it being one of the ULTIMATE sleepers, especially when you looked at it compared to the base model. Looked no different save for the bodykit and twin exhaust, but step on the pedal and WHOA!!! I like th look of the new one, and the interior is still blowing me away. Way for for to step up their game.

DaShocka-- buddy of mine, in Mass., still has his SVT Contour and it still looks like it rolled off of the showroom floor. I have seen many people sleep on that car as well.

It is a 4 door sedan, twin turbo, 360hp ALL WHEEL DRIVE car that gets 25mpg and people want to bag on the 38k price tag?

Like I said, a V6 camry can run you $30-32k

With a tweaks you are going to have a 400hp AWD monster.

AWD TT 3.5 V6 excites me. I can't wait to see how it reacts to BPU mods. I think the price is right on point too.

If you want to push it I bet you will see 450-500hp from these without much work.

Will kill the mpg, but hey.

Even still, stock big HP, AWD with decent mpg rating, very cool
