I think this looks really nice!! 38K is steeep for a Taurus.
But then I compare it to fully loaded Maxima's, Acura TL's, Genesis, SRT-8, and G8 GXP and the amount of power it puts out and unfortunately(because the cars I listed should never be that expensive in the first place) its a very competitive price.
Is it for me? Probably not, but I'm sure it will have its fan base.
You hit the nail on the head with that one. That class (for lack of a better word) of car always suprises me with the price. I always think those types of cars should top out around $35k - $38k, not start at.

I have the same concern, and I expect the rate of depreciation to be horrible too on these cars.
Comparing it to other AWD cars, the G37x, IS 250 AWD, TL-SHAWD, A4 Quattro, 3 series xdrive all look VERY overpriced, the G37x looking to be the most competitive. An IS 250AWD has 160hp LESS for the same price with options!!!! This murders the TL-SHAWD as well.
This car is more of a G8/300C competitor. I don’t see many cross-shopping this Taurus with the cars mentioned above. People who shop these cars want a little more than performance. I doubt this car comes anywhere close to the G37x, IS 250 AWD, TL-SHAWD, A4 Quattro, and 3 Series X in the luxury department. If performance is all you care about then put this on your list, however, 37K base is a little steep for a Taurus not matter the performance.
While I like this car (I would never buy it over an Acura or Lexus) and I’m sure it would be a blast to drive. It will probably get rave reviews like the G8, Genesis, and VW CC. Unfortunately for Ford it will probably have the same lowly sales numbers.
