Good for the Genesis.

GTR's are almost becoming common here. They don't attract that much attention (usually white or silver exteriors), other than the sharp-eyed enthusiasts attention of course.

Can you get an Audi A4 loaded up enough to cost $50K?

Different category, but the answer is yes. The A4 won "Best New Luxury Car (over $50K)".

Not in Japan - until a few years ago, "Lexus" models were sold as Toyotas.

Also, the Acura TSX in the US is just a rebadged JDM/European Accord.

I guess you must be the type who buys a crappy licensed Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren suit simply b/c they carry the designer label.

Of course, a lot depends, I guess, over how many of these vehicles are for sale (or lease, in the case of the FCX) in Canada.
volt, camaro, insight, fcx, fusion hybrid are not available.

venza, q5 should be in the running yes.

gt-r is now old news.

well, that would require more than one model (lexus launched with 2), plus launching a luxury brand in this economy is impossible (you'd never get enough dealers for one thing).

given these circumstances, i think hyundai's going the right thing. they are taking hyundai up market and still have kia for lower models.

As I mentioned earlier, the Q5 is also not available yet here. The local dealer stated that they were hoping to receive one next week and that pricing hasn't even been announced yet.

I hate the Genesis.

It's a fake-expensive car from an actually cheap company and this car get's too much attention.

They didn't even put the Hyundai badge on it so people wouldn't know that it is actually a Hyundai.

This will force me to go look at one (pure curiosity) ... but I expect to find that it's all been just a lot of hype.

well it has the hyundai badge on the back. and they didn't make that decision, we did. they did the survey and the majority of people voted not to have to the logo.

i can understand your hatred, but hyundai is doing this for hyundai, the brand. they could careless about luxury market right now. they want to completely eradicate bad rep of the past and be neck to neck with honyotas. but I recommend that you test drive before bashing. it's a great friggin car. i mean it's somewhere between infiniti and lexus, and it can hold it's own against any cars out there.

anyway when the time is right, i bet they will invest and launch the separate brand. but it's not time yet. they are going to beat this to death, so when people think of hyundai, they think 'luxury killer'
