seems like more than a few years ago LOL. I remeber driving the discussed generation 3 series BMW M3 and DAMN I was impressed. I was moved. Kind of like the first time I drove a 911 turbo. It was an experience you dont forget. Not that they were the fastest cars of all time, but for their day they were head and shoulders above the rest in terms of pure driving pleasure

One thing that the article doesn't take into consideration (and I know it's a little off the topic) is that the Camaro and Eagle Talon were both junk from a build quality standard....that also applied, of course, to the Talon's two corporate brothers, the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Plymouth Laser (all three were Mitsubishi-built at Normal, IL). The Eclipse of that generation was one of the worst cars Mitsubishi ever built from quality point of view. I saw brand-new ones in the showroom, back then, with loose trim parts, burrs in the finish from painting over dirt particles, and *****/buttons that would not work properly.
I do agree, though, that the Eclipse/Talon/Laser trio would handle.....and, for that era, they had kick-a** power, especially in the turbo/FWD version. The AWD versions, of course, added weight and drag.

Seeing articles like these makes me appreciate how much better cars are today... especially for the money.
Those cars were about $25,000 on average which in current day dollars is about $34,000 adjusted for inflation going from 1996 to late 2008.
Can you imagine looking at your dealer's new car lot and that's what you had to choose from for $34,000 of your hard earned dollars?
Today that kind of money can buy SO much more car... much better built, more refined, far more feature-laden, safer, more economical, more reliable/durable, and better built.

Man, still can't believe they put a V8 in comparing w/ mostly inline 4...and one V6.
They should've put the Camaro w/ the Thunderbird, Mustang, or others V8 in a comparison.
Damn I do miss the Prelude. Back then, i thought they might use the 2.4 in the prelude. Its still not too late HONDA, put the 2.4 in Prelude 2011

I have no idea how it stacks up next to your car... I'm just wondering if you've driven one.
