Really, if you could pick efficient & boring v. efficient & fun, what would you pick? Seriously now ...
Yes, I agree a fun hybrid would round out the product line nicely. It would entice somebody like me that has no interest in the current 'yota hybrids.

Honda is going to produce the CR-V or CRZ thing hybrid that should be fun. I think its a good move.

Currently the sportiest hybrid is the GS 450h!

...and remember when we thought the high-performance letter for Lexus was going to be the 'h' lineup...but with the HS 250h it's apparent the trend towards hybrids as efficiency is holding sway.

I want a fun hybrid. But, I don't see Toyota offer their hybrids with anything but a CVT. And that isn't fun for me.

CVT does take a lot of getting used to.

I want to see a hybrid Lexus with DSG that makes 35 mpg avg and about as sporty as the 2IS.

Am I asking too much?

You figure? I think those two will come regardless. Besides, not because it isn't a priority, does not mean that it's not in the cards.

That'd be amazing if any car company can do something like that... Sporty + efficiency? How do you say no...

How about the IS 350? Doesn't that count for a flash of fun also, or at least half of one?
And didn't the new president of Toyota confirm continuation of LF-A development?

Maybe it'll take the CR-Z hybrid to get Toyota going. After all, it won't be a cheap sports car if it were to be a hybrid sports car; the CR-Z will take care of that. The FT-HS will be in the 30s-40s if I had to guess.
