If the latest rumors are to be believed, however, the new special Bugatti could be very special indeed. Supposedly called the Centenaire edition, reports suggest the special Veyron an increased power rating – word on the street has always been that the Veyron's quad-turbo W16 was always capable of more than the already astronomic 1000 horsepower rating it got – up to some 1350 horses, good enough to boost the top end up to 420 km/h (261 miles-per-hour) from the current benchmark of 400 km/h (253 mph).

ANyone ever notice how much smaller the increments horsepower increases once power goes over a certain amount?
The Veyrons' power increases by 350hp yet speed increases by only 10 mph.

ANyway, it was only natural Bugatti upgrade the power. Once it became known the SSC Aero was faster, I figured Bugatti wouldn't sit still. Especially with the Aero costing so much less.

I think the Veyron was cooler before they started making 'special' editions/versions of the car. The Veyron was already special on its own, IMO trying to make the car a smidge better is kinda a cop out.

I agree, but when you are talking about the really wealthy, multi millionares to billionares, they always have to have the newest of the new, the rarest of the rare etc. They hang around with friends in the same world, like in duabi, a prince has a muricalego, then another prince gets a SLR, then the other gets a veryon, etc.. money is no object, they are always trying to top each other, and cars, jets, and watches are the best categories for this oneupsimship.
