Most of the new Lambos are bought for show moreso than for collection or for the pure enjoyment of the vehicle. They're usually those who made quick bucks rather than those that are born wealthy and continue to uphold their family name.

Besides, as the article said, even if you had the money, you probably don't want to show up in a new Lambo for fear of being retaliated against.

I agree that Lambo = new money. Ferrari=old money for the most part. I also find that Ferrari owners tend to be a little older in my experience

Just found this newer article atating the same thing about slipping Lambo sales

ooks like that no car company or customer demographic is immune from the continuing economic downturn. For instance, Lamborghini has been receiving numerous order cancellations lately. Luxury markets have been down 40 percent the first two months of this year. On the other hand, for customers with impending orders, wait time has been significantly shortened (due to the cancelations).

Lamborghini has received 100 orders for the new $450,000 Murcielago LP 670-4 Super Veloce, of which only 350 will be built on a limited run. There is no doubt that these will be sold out in a healthy and thriving economy. The company’s current focus is to remain profitable instead of introducing less expensive models to raise sales levels. It has something to do with keeping the brand pure and not diluting it. The company has temporary laid off 20 percent of its 1000-man workforce for two weeks the previous month. It has not been made known if there will be further temporary or permanent lay offs in the future.
