Default if both local Lexus dealers go out of business, will Toyota dealer do warranty work?

there are two Lexus dealers near my house. One is 20 miles away and the
other one is 25 miles away... not really "near" but close enough.

if both of them go out of business, will the local Toyota dealer be able to
do warranty work, or will I have to drive 150 miles to the next closest Lexus
dealer? is a Toyota dealer really capable of working on everything on a Lexus
vehicle?

the reason I'm asking is that the service advisor of the Lexus dealer that I
bought my Lexus from told me that the company(dealership) isn't doing
so well. In fact, they're more or less being propped up by their used car
side, which suprisingly sell more used BMWs and Mercedes than used Lexus.
He said his last two paychecks were late by as much as two weeks. (if my
company did that, I'd probably go postal... just kidding)

I don't know that I would put much more thought into this if I were you. Your service advisor may be exaggerating the story slightly, IMO.

Every brand and every dealership is struggling right now but Lexus is known for being conservative with it's dealers and has never closed a store if I recall correctly. Things may be slow and your advisor might be getting his paycheck late, but it will take more than that for either dealership to actually go out of business.

my Lexus dealer is owned by a family that also owns two other dealerships
across street.(Chevy and Infiniti) The Infiniti one went kaput at the end
of last month. It's now got a giant LEASE sign where the Infinit sign was...
this is why I got kind of worried.

I would call Corporate and see what they have to say.

I agree with MPLexus301. It seems unlikely that in a worse case scenario Toyota/Lexus would let both dealerships go out of business. I don't know where you're located, but if it's an area that supported two dealerships in the past, they'd want to keep at least one or both.

Bingo. This is the only way you can know the answer to your question with any certainty.

I was told by Lexus corporate that my warranty will absolutely be taken care
of at the Toyota dealer.

I guess that's not really what I was worried about. A huge company like
Lexus(Toyota) will not abandon its customers. What I really was wondering
was the technical skills of the mechanics at the Toyota dealer. My mother
owns a 07 Avalon. I took it to the Toyota dealer for her. The mechanic
somehow managed to botch a simple oil change. Stripped the thread that
the oil filter goes on. (not the oil drain plug) The next morning, my mother's
garage was a total mess with engine oil. All the oil had trickled out during the
night. The Toyota dealer sent out a tow truck and towed it back. Not sure
if they billed Toyota as warranty work, or the mechanic who caused it. No
way I'm letting that Toyota dealer touch my Lexus.

Except they won't give a straight answer, they have no reason to.

I agree. It's not in their best interest to give this kind of info over the phone to strangers.

Even in this market, someone would buy the dealership, or it would continue as corporate owned. They dont want and cannot afford a hit to their image.
