Those C's might have been used as loaner cars from an MB dealer. From my experience, I beat up on those things whenever I take my wife's car in for service because they are so damn SLOW. It makes me wonder why they even put traction control on 'em if you can't even break the wheels loose. Bottom line, stay away from those junks.

for slippery situation like rain & snow, it sure will break the wheels loose.. That is the main reason for traction control, not because of the power the engine produces.

It's actually a 2007 model but I am thinking in American terms. A 2007 car in Europe is a 2008 car back home. ![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
The E230 is a 2.5 V6, same engine found in the last-generation V6 C230 that was offered in the US. It's a good engine that is both refined, powerful and relatively good on gas. I have no problems with it.

I usually get C240's as a loaner and trust me, I always try to break the wheels loose rain or shine and the car will never do it. The C300 (or 350), on the other hand, is a different story. It's a major improvement over the previous gen.

If you are going to buy a c class, DO NOT buy a Kompressor. The 4 banger Kompressor engine is one of the most faulty engines in Mercedes history. Get the non Kompressor if you want a C class. A dear friend of mine is the service manager for Mercedes in Chattanooga and she says ALL the Kompressor motors fail in several ways. Major oil leaks are a huge issue with them as well. They just don't seem to be designed for the supercharger.
She compares her data company wide and it is the same for every dealership MBUSA links to, it is not a localized thing.

Well dudes, after much consideration, I decided ( and HAPPY ) with my decision not to purchase an C-class. I work at a car dealership and they bought one from auction, well it was the same exact model, color, 2006 40k miles. What I wanted from the other dealership. Well this car was not even close to being built like my 2002 outdated GS 300 in terms of comfort, functionality, and shale i say it, crafsmanship lol. From simple things like how the door locks operated in the C how they made a weird broken like sound to how the rear sunshade sounded like it was about to break when lowering, the seats were hard, the steering wheels felt rough, starting the car, whoa.....totally not the sound i was expecting from a Mercedes, my once again 2002 GS 300 with 118,000 miles sounds way more refined at startup.
I just guess i had to see it for myself, well now i have and i cannot justify making a purchase like that. I have decided to just fix my car, can get the parts i need for a good price, and when i get my car fixed, i can just buy a warranty for the car if i wanted.
I appriciate everyone's opinion, it was much needed and very seen!
