My biggest beef is with the gigantic stock wheel gap, I thought it was bad on the new 09 Audi A4, but the IS C looks like its on stilts. Besides that and maybe a different set of rims like the 08 18's, I think it looks good.

To me, they totally rushed it... The design of the IS-C versus the regular 2IS is just night and day...

I wish the C stood for Coupe rather than Convertible. The top just doesn't look right. I can see this car becoming the new Vally Girl car though.

I found the brochure boring. I was excited at first about the IS250c but after seeing on display at the autoshow....I was lukewarn to the styling.

So the 250 C will be even heavier and even slower. Ew.

RUSHED ??? It's already at least two year too late , the IS sedan is already past the mid point of it's cycle ...

Yes, flattering pics in the brochure as expected. I've seen it in the flesh, it's not especially good looking.

I had high hopes for this car from a design point of view but it looks like Lexus just chopped an IS in half and added a different rear body to it. A weak effort in terms of styling in my opinion. Maybe when an F-Sport body kit is released it might actually be a looker.

However, this car will probably be very nice to drive.

Will it at least have a little more cabin space for those drivers with long legs? Probably not since it is based on the IS.

Just looks like a convertible Toyota, nothing really Lexus like about it. When they polished the 2IS and put it into production they killed all the character of the 1IS and blanded it down. Slower (250), sloppier, and bland as potato salad. The 350 is a nice performer, but it's still a little bland in the looks department IMO. Now they have a vert model that is even more bland than the other and it's supposed to be competing with BMW? This car has the appeal of a Solara, not even an E46 from years back is comparable.... Just BLAH.

Another thing, I stopped by Lexus last week and looked at the 350 and 250 on the lot and I was horrified by the fit and finish. Body panels with big gaps, not lining up, molding that was not properly snapped into place....... bumpers that barely fit together with the body. The 1IS wasn't perfect when it came to matching the front bumper up perfectly on the headlights, but it was still a lot better!

My impressions of the 2IS are less than favorable and this vert is just making it worse.

The wheel gap and ANTENNA are a huge problem for me. As I have said in the past, this isn't bad but it really could have and should have been better for the length of time they had to build it. Overall I'd give it a 5/10, with the sweet rear LED tails as it's main saving grace.

So what's your point? Just because WE think that it's two years too late doesn't mean that it actually took them two years longer to design that abomination they call a car. You can't argue the fact that the rear end of that car doesn't look anything like the current IS... So, yes... it looks RUSHED... like they scrambled for parts out of the parts bin to put it together.

THIS would have been a better response... Even though this is a rendering, it would have been MUCH better than their current output...

I just don't understand how it is sooo slow compared to the 328i, A4, TSX, etc. And it boggles my mind how Lexus gets away with only offering a 6MT and/or AWD with the sllllooooow 2.5L model in 2009. Geeze.
