I've always liked concave wheels, especially on wide wheels.
I've always thought 5 inch lips are ugly.
I would never buy a lipped wheel unless the spokes were flat.
I hate when you have such a deep lip, the convex spokes bulge out like a watermelon.......and look like wheels on a lowrider truck.![](http://i42.tinypic.com/axcf0w.jpg)

I too, prefer a concave or flat faced rim face. Two of my favorite wheels are great examples of each. Leon Hardiritt Ordens have a concave face. BBS LM's have a flat spoke profile, they don't bow out like most of the mesh wheels out there.

I think this question depends on the platform, i.e. what car the wheels are on, accompanying aero, how does the drop look...
I went for concave on my s13. If I keep my s14, some flat face w/thin lips (like BBS LMs or Enkei RPF1's) will get mounted. For an SC... fat lip all the way. Provided you've got sufficiently aggressive aero, that is...
