rdgdawg, I apologize for my post earlier today. I was just a little peeved by a certain response to my initial post.
Good luck finding a new car. It's great to have a wide range of cars you'd be happy with. I'm the exact opposite - I know immediately after driving a car where it sits on my personal leader board.

If he changes his mind 12 MORE times before he buys a car, so be it. Sometimes that's just part of shopping.
I spend a LOT of my spare time, (when not car reviewing) discussing car purchases with potential buyers, or shopping with them. Some people take months to decide what they finally want.

I'm sensing a fair amount of jealousy.
I'm sorry that I've only owned Lexus' for 4 years...the fact that I've only posted here for 8 months I guess makes me a noob.
Post like a douche, get responses as such.

. I'm not convinced that, for normal street use, the M3 and IS-F are worth the extra money. IMO, the 335i, especially, is a good value. With its twin-turbos, it actually out-torques the M3 (305 to 295) at low and medium RPMs (the M3 doesn't catch up till much later, at the extremely high-RPM 414 HP peak), and at most normal driving speeds, the 335's handling is almost as good as the M3's. On the track, however, the M3 would probably have an edge.
.
.
M3 requires a good driver (not saying that you aren't. But you need to get used to the car, gear changes blah blah blah) to make the most out of it. I have had mine for over 3 or 4 months now and I love it even more and more everyday. There are a lot more to learn about this car and gear shift points, gas, clutch blah blah blah. Once you master those, 335i can suck it hard. It really doesn't even come close in terms of driving pleasure. 8700 rpm is just pure heaven.
OP, keep shopping. Don't listen to haters. I didn't shop much when I got mine. I just bought it because I knew that I would love it. There has to be a reason why everyone hailed M3 as a benchmark. Boy, were they right!!!

I was being 80% serious.
For street driving, there are traffic lights everywhere. 100% of the time, you will be driving in the streets where there are traffic lights... it's Stop-and-Go traffic. There are very few cars on the road that will beat the IS350, or cars like Mitsubishi Evo, Subaru WRX, Mazdaspeed6 or the like in this application. You will ruin your day if you were driving a C6 Z06 or ZR-1 and get beat by an IS350 or an Evo. This is because, you are in the street where you can't speed off from 0- triple digit speeds. We don't even have an Autobahn here.. Cars like a Vette or a M3 will benefit on a track. Will you be driving in the track everyday? how?.... why would you anyways.... You gotta drive to work, go to a grocery store, or whatever to take care of your thangs... mmarshall summed it up perfectly in his previous post here. You just didn't fully understand it.

He wasn't intending to come to the Chicago meets in the first place. The banning is a complete joke anyway...
I do agree one thing though, I would sell the GS430 in a heartbeat.... and get *something else* if not IS350... The GS is a grandpa's car.... I cannot disagree with that. [laughing my fanny *** off]
lol....

Shows how much you know When Russ comes to our meets I will make sure we send a pic of his new car that WONT be a POS IS350 GS430 is a Family car....and Much better then the IS was. Quality is better but still needs improvement. At least I can be honest with myself unlike you Wonder what you have to say about the people on here that drive an LS Are they considered *dead* for driving a much larger car then me You and your posts I cant help but to feel sorry for you
I have never agreed with that line of thinking when it comes to performance cars. IMO, there is no such thing as too much HP for the street. Traffic, or no traffic. Stop signs/lights, or no stop signs/lights. High horsepower cars are fun no matter where you drive them. Hell, even in downtown LA, it's fun to just romp on 500 HP between lights. There really is nowhere you can go and NEVER be able to "jump on it" now and again. No matter where you are, with HP like that, you'll find places to use it. Driving in the city doesn't automatically mean that you can never open your car up. Just be safe. Even if you drive your car in bumper to bumper traffic 98% of the time, it's that two percent that makes it worth it.
You cant drive fast but he posts driving like an idiot on YouTube doing 0-60 runs on public streets There are places for doing that Glad my family and kids are not on the roads near and immature driver like that

Come on guys, take it easy on Russ (rdgdawg). Sure, he's nervous...who wouldn't be, shopping for 50-60K new cars? That's a LOT of money....and needs to be spent wisely, not tossed away in a quick snap decision. After all, he's coming to us for advice........let's show him some courtesy.

Russ, not worth the time to listen to the haters. It's been great discussion on several vehicles that have enlightened many.

After yesterday's thread commentary, I actually found 3 different drivers who all have had a Z06, M3 AND Audi S4 or RS4... so THIS info is invaluable. I hope to pull the trigger shortly...

As SOON as my project funds... I will... delayed FOUR times this month... until it happens, I'm in a holding pattern... however, when it does, then one of CL's best soap operas will be over, so many will have to find new "entertainment"!!
