although I don't think its an ugly car at all, I HATE any designs that steal from BMW's, you couldn't pick an uglier car company to copy, everything Bangle touched or tweaked looks awful, the bangle butt, the bangle crease, they are just awful and the reason I won't be considering a BMW until they return to the pre-Bangle days.

Looks like a standard Legacy to me. This is what Subarus look like.

Keep in mind that newly released photos are clearly a base 2.5i model. The GT has always had more bells and whistles on the exterior. Throw a spoiler and hood scoop in and Im happy.

Subaru has been having quite an identity crisis over the last few years, and this new Legacy seems to be evidence that it's not over yet.

The company has gone from quirky and cool (WRX) or downright odd (2005-2007 Tribeca), to clean and attractive albeit somewhat bland (2008+ Legacy and Tribeca). The new WRX was a letdown to lots of Subaru enthusiasts because it is barely visually distinguishable from a Corolla, and now they create a Legacy that takes all the wrong cues from the Sebring and a few others from Lexus and BMW.
At least in my eyes, it is quite clear that Subaru (for as good of cars as they make) is really lacking in a creating a prominent brand identity with their styling. The new Legacy looks like a lame attempt to be "unique" and it has just ended up as ugly.

Still somewhat ugly, just getting more generic over time. They need to fire their body design people and setup a new design studio in southern Cal like most major auto companies.

Well, i sat in it......
Umm.....just be glad we all have the 05-09 legacys...
Want a soft touch dash...not in the new one, hard plastic.
Seats are more supple, but less supportive for enthusiast driving. They are def. bigger though.
Wood dash looks nicer.
All in all, its a lot of plastic. Kinda dissapointed.
Steering wheel silver parts, are very cheap feeling.
It does have the 6-speed, but no parking brake in the center....so no more e-brake fun.
IMO its an old persons car. The plastics and feel of the seats kinda reminded me of my grandfathers Buick Lacrosse...
Very dissapointed....
There is some good news though......
THE BACK SEAT HAS LEG ROOM!
Thats it...
I wish i could tell you it was better, but if you like plastic, you'll like this interior.....

You didn't notice if the coolant temperature gauge is now gone, did you, or if they went to El Cheapo hard-material headliner and sun-visors, did you? Those are two things that are annoying in the new Impreza and Forester. The former coolant-temperature gauge is replaced by blue and red warning lights for hot and cold. That's no big deal on a new car, when the engine is not likely to overheat, but, as the cooling system ages, it becomes more and more important to gave a gauge, so you can keep a close eye on things like the thermostat and head gaskets.

There are more pics from Autoblog. I got the description from Pathfin9 over @ LegacyGT.com so I don't have any experience with the new model unfortunately. I look forward to your review though

The cheap-ification of interiors is a very disturbing trend in recent years and it seems like no manufacturer is immune- Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Subaru and others. Some of the American companies have made strides but still lag behind the competition in certain instances.
The single thing I love most about my GS is how rock solid and high quality the interior is, and that's probably a large part of why I will be keeping it for a loooong time to come.
All in all, it's sad to hear that Subaru ruined the Legacy- it was one of the best midsize sedans IMO.
