I knew the interior reminded me of something.
About 2-3 years ago, a member of a GM site took a shot at designing a few next gen vehicles. He did a few CGI's of his ideas and posted it on the forums, calling it GM's Revitalization in Action. Take a look at what he came up with, and what GM is now using. Hmmmmmm....
CGI
GMC Terrain
Granted, its not exactly the same, but the button layout (which kind of reminds of a TV remote) is pretty similar. Starting to wonder if the guy who did the CGI's had a hand in the final design of some the vehicles.

This SUV was in the works long before gas prices exploded and GM became a target for bankruptcy.
Aside from that, this SUV is downright efficient. 21/30? Those are excellent numbers for something with that much size and practicality to it. What other SUV on the market offers those numbers with similar size and utility? None that I'm aware of... so why is GM the one being criticized here. This is not another fuel - sucking monstrosity... it's a practical vehicle for a family. It even beats the RAV4 4-cyl and is significantly larger.
Granted I still agree with everyone on the looks being iffy. Maybe it looks better in person. From pictures I'd go with the Equinox 100 times over before this. By the way, I found out the Equinox 4-cyl has ANC as well.
I'd really consider the equinox as a replacement for our 4runner if I was ready to replace our 4runner, but I'm not.
