until the japanese can come with a dual clutch transmission, there's no contest.
denso, aisin, whatever.

Twin Clutch SST found in Evo X is developed by Mitsubishi Motors. It's a magnificent heavy duty performance oriented dual clutch transmission that works great in auto mode by making shifts at points where actual experienced driver would make shifts too.

their slushboxes yes.

but their manual gear box in a S2000 or NSX...wow!!!

Nope... but you're almost close to getting the point. There is no such thing as "pure" German or Japanese or American car nowadays. That to bash one class of cars is ignorant because our cars share the same components to a certain extent.

Yeah, it's "just" engineering. Hmmm. Not quite. Not to sound arrogant or condescending (I apologize in advance) but an engineer worth his salt knows that worthwhile design improvements come with first rate engineering. It is very hard and complex. That's when patents are born. German, Swedish, American or Japanese cars, they've got it all. It just depends on what timeframe we're talking about that one has an edge over another.

And, who determines who has the edge? As an example, automotive research firm TRG found that the 2007 LS 460 offered the most advanced technological features of any vehicle available in North America. The LS has won Popular Mechanics' Automotive Excellence and Popular Science's Design and Engineering Awards.

And from the authority of them all--- citing its world's firsts, the official publication of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) named the LS 460 as 2007's Best Engineered Vehicle.

No wonder, even the former CEO of Boeing, an engineer himself, ordered an LS460 to replace his LS430 only to cancel it two months into his new job as Ford CEO, and partly to quell criticism that he should be driving a Ford.

In 2008, SAE gave the Best Engineered Vehicles award to the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid and GMC Yukon Hybrid. The dual-mode (sometimes called two-mode) hybrid engines, co-developed by Chrysler and BMW, has impressed many with it's ability to increase the fuel economy of these large SUVs by 50% in city driving. Too bad, Engineer Obama decided to toss out GM's CEO too fast, too soon.
