Something tells me there wouldn't be such a circus if Japan had to do what it needed to do to save it's manufacturing base. If you and the others are going to insist on calling for these companies to fail over what...becuase you don't like thier cars...a perspective into what treatment their competitors would be getting by their home country governments seems to be in order. The "tax-payer" money worry is just a facade at the national level. The Republicans had no trouble running drunk until they weren't in possession of the checkbook.
Chrysler should fail for two reasons:
1. They are a privately owned company. They ARE NOT a publicly traded company. They are 80% Cerberus, 20% Daimler. Why should the taxpayer bailout a company that isn't willing to invest in their own survival?
2. They have shown no indication that they are even remotely close to being viable on a long term basis. Have you seen what the sales numbers for ChryCo for the last couple of quarters? They will not have anything concrete within the alotted 30 days...although that still doesn't mean that BO won't bail them out anyways.
Whether or not, I or anyone else, likes their cars has little bearing on the above 2 points...other than any viability plan will require a dramatic increase in sales.
Your latter comment is laughable, as you seem to be the resident know it all about every vehicle ever built. Your constant babbling about VW and the superiority of everything German is tiresome. You also seem to suggest through your union cheerleading and defense of GM and ChryCo that your solutions are the only ones worthy of discussion.
Best looking one to date. The new Pentastar engine seems promising. However, doesn't Chrysler have a 6AT. 5 gears in a vehicle like this seems very 2002.
