I agree the interior looks cheap, especially the gauge area.

Have any of you guys actually had a chance to sit in the car and examine the interior and its materials first-hand, or are you just commenting from pictures?

We all know that GM did junk interiors for many years, but that has recently been changing.

I'm planning a full review of a new Camaro (per CL request) as soon as they are available in my area.

Anyway, still nice.
It's a damn muscle car. They're supposed to be large and wide. Leave the sporty car look to the germans.

I've seen the interior first-hand in the LA Auto Show and... It is cheap.

Worse than the Dodge Challenger's? The Challenger has a lot of stuff inside that feels like it's going to break off in your hands. I mentioned that in my review of the R/T.

The Mustang also has a fair number of flimsy and cheap-looking parts inside, but the new 2010 model shows some improvement.

IMO the Camaro's interior is on par with the Challenger and worse than the re-freshed Mustang.

Don't get your hope up too high, apparently the new-found good interior quality in the recent GM cars didn't find its way to the Camaro.

But check out some pictures below. I fail to believe that the pix don't cause you to change you mind. A well equipped, Mean looking, 306HP-V6 with 29mpg for $30K!

I am seriously considering trading my Camry for it.

Actually, $23K for what you listed. For $30K, you're closer to 426HP.

Not surprising. Traditional American pony and muscle cars aren't usually sold for interior elegance, but for relatively cheap V-8 power.

Hopefully the Camaro will be more than a traditional pony car, assuming GM wants the surviving divisions to make a profit someday.

I find it hilarious people knocking the Camaro interior and the last G35 had the worst interior from any luxury brand and people still bought it.

Its a muscle car, interior appointments are not a priority. Speed, power are.

I'm not feeling those flat-black stripes. Without them, the car is looking pretty good.

My son is obsessed with Transformers; I can't even imagine the look on his face if I drove up in Bumblebee! Not gonna happen but he'd love it.
