the new 2.0T motor is a damn good option -- "only" 211hp but 258lb-ft torque from 1500-4200 rpm.
and my wife's 2.0T TT is getting a solid 31.7mpg over about 1000 miles of mixed driving 50/50 city/hiwy
I don't agree with making all TT's with the 2.0T QUATTRO option unless its jut a simplification for building them. I have no want or need for the quattro living in Texas....just something to drag down the MPG.

I know the 2.0T is good, i just think they're missing out on having an engine between the 2.0T 211 hp inline 4 and the new S4's 333HP 3.0 Supercharged V6.

Speaking of the S8, I'm shocked and disappointed to see it discontinued (along with the W12 A8L). I was actually going to give Audi another try when I'm back in the car market in about a year and a half, but I guess not...

Since the 2009 Audi A4's introduction last year, the number of sedans rolling off dealer lots equipped with the company's turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four versus the 3.2-liter V6 has been nine-to-one. With almost 90% of all A4s equipped with the peppy, fuel-efficient and thoroughly entertaining four-pot, Audi has decided to cease offering the V6 on the A4 – along with the A3 and TT – for the 2010 model year.
"We're not backing away from the V6 strategy," Audi's U.S. Corporate Communications head, Bradley Stertz told Autoblog, "We're recalibrating our mix."
According to Stertz, Audi's rejiggered engine strategy has less to do with the slow-sales of the V6 and more to do with the brand's expanding lineup. With Audi's new supercharged V6 making its way to the States in the new S4, along with the introduction of the TT S and A3 TDI, the 3.2-liter's standing in the engine hierarchy was lessened. And with the 2.0-liter mill delivering the best bang-for-the-buck – not to mention placing Audi in the enviable position of being the only German luxury marque offering a four-cylinder in the U.S. – the automaker's new tactic should continue to pay-off on the sales front.

I'm a bit sad to see the 3.2 go - they did the same for the 3.6 Vr6 on the 09' Passats, making it CC- only. Speaking of which, sales have plumeted for 09 passat, and rightfully so. Ridiculous on VWoA's part - the Audi decision definitely makes more sense though.

so I'm assuming the TT will now retain the 2.0T but only in Quattro form (per another Audi post). I wonder how much that drags down the MPG? EDIT -- looked it up -- Quattro will cost you 2mpg both city and hwy.
