Talking New garage mate for our F! --- NOT a Lexus

For a number of reasons (primarily the ineptness of management at our local dealership) we ended up passing on the new '10 RX. Had I not had the problems with the damage to my calipers on my F, I'm sure we would already be in a new one.

Anyways, as we put many more highway miles on than city, we decided that a diesel was better for us than a hybrid anyways.

Both are great vehicles and have there own positive attributes. There are certain things that I would prefer that are in the RX, but at the same time there are several things that, imo, Benz does better.

I'll keep you up to date on any issues and provide a bit of a review/comparison once we've had it for a little longer.

Congrats!! You will love the M class! Some things to remember, you will not get amazing mpg untill you are close to the 15-20k range its a diesel it takes a longer time to break in.http://www.mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w164-72/ this link is for mbworld w164 sub forum. Now its time to mod, rims tinted tails and sport pedals!! When the urge for more power comes the kd box will be waiting.

Thanks!....lol. I've already got my eye on some black 20" Vossen's for next summer....and thinking about the blacked out grille and badging as well.

I'll certainly have to look into this "kd box" that you are referring to.

The finance manager who has an E320 Bluetec also mentioned that we shouldn't expect the amazing mileage until past 10 000 km.

I'm not going to lie....I'm scared chitless about the reliability.

I agree, after driving both and owning a 06 ML, the ML is the better vehicle to drive.

I'm not really sure what that is even supposed to mean?

Keep in mind that it was the service that I received from management at the local Lexus dealership that pushed me away in the first place. Not only did they damage the calipers on my F (they tried to put F-Sport wheels on for my winter set-up) but after telling me that they would get them fixed for over 6 months....2 weeks ago I was informed that they were washing their hands of them. If that is the "superior" service you are suggesting that Lexus offers, I'll do without thanks.

Had they simply repaired my calipers or even made arrangements to have it done...we'd already be in a new RX.

I actually feel very badly for our sales guy, as the management basically screwed him out of a guaranteed sale.

Benz has been nothing but a pleasure to deal with thus far. Time will tell I guess.

Cha-ching, bling bling, ring ring ring [more buzzers going off]. That's a classy garage you've got going there. Way to go, friend. Now get a real camera for those pics instead of your Blackberry. You're not at the dealership anymore, Dorthy.

"B" service is the alternate service on M-B's that cost almost triple what the "A" service costs.

I completely agree, the old one seemed like it couldn't decide if it wanted to be boxy or curvy and just ended up looking more like a van.
