They really didn't have the pace. 3rd place was really as best as they could have hoped. Look at where Glock finished. I think the fastest car on the track now are the Red Bulls. If it weren't for Trulli holding up Vettel during the middle part of the race, he probably would have won the race.

Strategy cost toyota the race. During the first pit stop they put on soft tires, instead of intermediates. that made them about a second slower than Brawn/Vettel on every lap.

they really could have won this thing if they chose the correct tire setup

I think it was the other way around. They started on soft, and then opted for the slower, longer lasting medium option tire for the long 2nd stint.

regardless of the outcome, an overall good race, and amazingly no retirements due to accidents. it's refreshing to see how the mighty (BMW, Ferrari, and McLaren Mercedes) have fallen in comparison to last year. (and this is coming from a hamilton supporter)

im waiting to see what happens with toyota and KERS, which i'm surprised they havent already come out with....

Here is the story. Toyota will probably not introduce KERS. The thing is, the FIA went to Honda and Toyota for technical consultation wrt to KERS and their hybrid systems. They both went out of their to be helpful and provide as much information as possible. The FIA then proceeded to structure rules so that the system would be as restricted as possible, and that they would not be able to use most of their know how and expertise. The system in the Prius is FAR more advanced, not too mention the ultra-capacitor system found in the Supra HV-R

Hmmm that's ok, I was expecting it to be close to $4 billion.

They did have the pace. Strategy killed them, that 3rd was the best they could have managed is rubbish.
