So I got one of these...
i spent 4 months straight trying to attain a proper porsche but due to the banks and how the economy is nowadays i've decided to settle on one of these...
im not too crazy about the whole 4 door with a huge wing look but it drives so well and i said to myself i have to have one. stock performance is impressive. acceleration is really something when you have awd, 3 diffs, and boost kicking in around 4k. even more impressive is the grip this thing has.

to the wheel it makes around 210hp and it feels fast already and is a lot of fun. 700hp is waaay too much i've read people with 500whp spinning all 4 tires in 3rd! my goal is 300whp with stock turbo, fmic, custom exhaust, and tuning.

I love hearing the sound of the boxer engine from these cars. Here's a start on your 300whp goal http://www.vishnutuning.com/impreza_sti.htm

There is a famous tuning shop in town called DYNOCOMP. They have a " Viper killer " package that they do for the STI that will garuntee you 700 plus hp for I think 5600 dollars. Its a great deal. They built the STI that almost beat the Mines GTR at the American Togue 2 yrs ago. They know whats up

Not sure about that one Care to show us?
At any rate, I loved my 05 but after dropping the car off at Crawford/I-Speed for a stage one upgrade i.e. Ecutek, intake and turbo back exhaust, the car was a beast and really came alive. I gained over 70 ft. lbs of torque alone. Stock STi is a cockroach IMO and severely detuned from the factory....... Nice car

The thing about the wing on the Sti is its needed. If you take it off and try to take a corner at 75+...you will find out just how badly.
Leave it, its there for a purpose and not just for "looks". take it from someone who has driven alot of them. on the street they look goofy, on the track, well...you wont regret leaving it there.
