No firm date yet. It was supposed to be "fall 2009" but that could be mean anywhere from Sept to Nov lol. Check and see if the dealer is able to order one. If it's a Sept delivery, they might be putting them into production now to create a stockpile.

I still have yet to drive a prius . I should take a test drive sometime. Its just that the sales people are so damn hard up right now they would probably bug the crap out of me after I left

Are discounts available or are dealers still expecting MSRP or greater?

so Nextourer, what are your initial impressions of the 3G versus the 2G?
There's a silver Pkg V in my neighborhood (with 17's) that looks really nice!

What's better:
- Steering feel
- Noise level (road, wind and engine)
- Premium feel. e.g. pillars lined with felt instead of hard plastic. (I had the '05 before they updated the dashboard in 2006) The tolerances for the interior parts are super tight
- New displays to help the new drivers achieve better mpg without much technique
- Wider cargo area
- More kneeroom and legroom (even though the numbers say otherwise)
- Power lumbar support
- Better seats (I have the leather ones which I found more comfortable than the cloth ones at the L.A. Prius event)
- I think the side mirrors are larger.
- Better mpg. I'm getting 58mpg off the first 200km. Granted, I know the driving techniques now vs. when I got the 2005
- More power. It's not excessive but the extra power is welcomed
- More toys. I got the Technology Package
- More lighting (overhead ambient, footwell, power window switches, power door lock switch etc etc)
What's worse:
- Less storage space (e.g. no door pockets, just bottle holders)
- MFD no longer standard. You get the new small MID to display the hybrid information
- Ugly plastic foglight cover (if you don't have foglights)
- Would be nice if the backlit light was amber instead of green
- Nav screen hard to see if moonroof is open
- IS-style cupholder-in-console-box. WHY?!?!
- Console box tray is hinged so it's not removable (so what happens when you lift it to reach for something underneath??)
- Gloveboxes no longer lined in felt and no longer feature shelves
That's all I can think of. It's getting late at night lol
