Just bought a new set of tires for the wife's car and I love them. Got her a set of the new Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus. They are an upgrade of the previous AS model. I could tell right away they were more quiet than the older model but I'll have to drive on them some more to comment on performance. SO far I can say the performance seems great. I did a couple high speed take-offs and stops and felt very confident and stable. It's the quiet that has me so impressed. Much better than the older model. I thought about it and I don't recall us ever paying a lot of attention to the tires everyone buys.
Everyone check in with what tire you have and comments if you wish.
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus - 19 in staggered - $1300
High performance all-season. So far, I love them!

I bought these tires for my Acura TL A-SPEC 6-spd manual with Navi. The OEM tires were horrible 235/40/18 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. I upgraded to these Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus tires in a 255/40/18. These are hands down the best All SEASON-All Purpose tire that I have ever purchased for a vehicle. I can't rave enough about how great these tires are in every aspect. Just thought I too would comment on these tires.

I can't comment on cost other than what TireRack lists them, as I've always gotten tires at or below cost, but the tires I've run on SC400 have included:
General Exclaim UHP - junk, handled badly... didn't wear them enough to see any problems with them though TireRack lists price (235/40-18 and 275/30-19) as $642.20 shipped to my door
BFGoodrich KDW - awesome tire, specifically much better than expected in the wet, by far one of my favorite street tires, a little noisy though - TireRack lists price (255/35-18 and 265/30-19 - I had 275's but they are no longer made) as $944.92 shipped to my door
Bridgestone RE050A - wonderful tire, quieter / smoother than the BFG, handles a little better in the dry, not quite as good in the wet... TireRack lists these (255/35-18 and 285/30-19) as $1214.08 shipped to my door...
- you do know there is an entire subsection of this forum dedicated to tires right?

I've been meaning to do a review on my Goodyear Eagle DS3 F1s. They are high performance summer tires and by far the best tires I have ever owned. Handling is increased, they are quiet, I love the tread pattern but what I am MOST impressed with is their handling and their behavior in the wet. I swear they beg for rain. I've never drove a car with so much confidence in the rain. These tires are beyond superb. Size is 235/40/18 f and 265/35/18 r
With my new "h" the car came with Kumho Ecsta STP. Now I was put off when I saw them b/c I've had the first gen Kumho Escta and they look good and the price was cheap but they handled okay at best and wore quickly IMO. Wet traction was good.
Well I've driven this car in the rain now a few times and taking some hot laps with her around town and in the parking lot and I am VERY impressed by them. I was so impressed, I had to look up the ratings and find out about this tire. To me there is a very negligable difference between these and the Goodyears and these are maybe 1/2 the cost. I can't get either tire to squeal.
Size for the Kumho is 245/40/18 all around.
I've heard nothing but great things about Michelin PS2 A/S
I also had AVS ES 100 245/40/18 front 275/35/18 rear and again, they looked good and handled fine but were not great at all. Clearly it was a value option tire. I had them back in 03 or so and when I saw Acura put them on the 04+ TL I scratched my head.

On the tire topic, I need to do a review on the staggered Toyo T1R's recently installed on my IS350. These tires are an upgrade from OEM Bridgestones 225-40-18 / 255-40-18 to 235-35-19 / 275-30-19.
Initial observations are good grip and reasonably quiet for a hp tire, running same tire pressures in dry weather only.

I hated my PilotSport AS. Didn't even wear them to the treadwear bar. Glad to hear that the plus is better.
I had the T1S and I loved them (wet and dry)! It just sucks when the temperature drops below 50F. Heard that the T1Rs are even better. My friend has a set of R1R on his STi and OMG that thing sticks!!

DOes it include members checking in with what tires they have and what they think of them. That's what I'm after...what everyone is running on. We make such big noises about wheels and wheel quality and suspension mods but it's the tires that are most important. I'm curious.

I've had the Pilot A/S Plus for a little over 2 months now. Best tire I've ever owned. ![Cool](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
They run quiet, smooth & straight and hold the road really well. Definitely a huge improvement over the OEM RE92s that came with the car.
