Is Acura A Luxury Brand?

It's not. I belive Audi's system is FWD based and uses your basic clutchpack or torsen LSD's and doesn't have a lockable center differential - see what happens to these when one side of the car is in the air or on smooth ice. Acura's system is able to put up to 100% of torque to any rear or up to 70% of torque to any front wheel regardless of whether all other wheels are slipping.

If you're talking about strictly for high performance dry track driving by professional drivers, then yes, RWD is second to none. However for most of us average folks driving your average cars in real life's conditions, AWD is very useful. It helps a ton in rain, snow, and for your average Joe its the easiest to drive agressively.

wait a min, the Audi A4 is still FWD or AWD.
f that, I'd take the TL over the A4.
way more power for the TL and a way superior AWD system. For such a sporty looking vehicle the A4 is the very definition of poseur.

Pole Position
I'm trying to avoid this thread as they are getting really sickening.
But, I must point out the many posts such as this that saying that Acura is a FWD brand....
Anyone care to check their powertrains?
Only the TSX is limited to FWD (just like the more expensive Lexus ES).
RL - SH-AWD
MDX - SH-AWD
RDX - SH-AWD
TL - SH-AWD (available)
ZDX - SH-AWD
And yet we're arguing that they don't offer RWD????
SH-AWD is better than RWD (and better than typical AWD systems too). Since when is it not considered a step up?
It's OK that AUDI does it?
The better version of the Lexus LS (the 600hL), upgrades from RWD to AWD.
And on and on...
Seems like people are just pulling at straws to add to the bash fest.

And?
I'm glad you can afford IS-F, S4, and M3, but these cars are in a little bit different pricing category than the 9 year old S2000, and the S2000 will hold its own against them very well around the track.
Fanboy ricer? Not at all. Now, I never said the integra was a luxury car, but it is very damn relevant, it has a big following and for a very good reason.
Thats just your own opinion. Some people look at M3 and say "Yawn, another 3 series"
And as far as the interior looking like a GM product? With leather stitched dashboard?
Go see what the interiors of Ferrari's in the 90ies looked like.

Since when do people buy a car specifically for the track? If that's your only claim to winning the S2k against the world agruement, is that it's better around a track... I'll take my chances in the F
I'm glad you think the S2000 is a great car..........I don't, so we agree to disagree.
M3 is a completely different chasis than the 3 series I've never heard anyone say that it's just another 3-series........other than you
Now you're comparing Ferraris from the 90's to prove your point
back on topic...........Acura is fail

Nope. It is NOT. But, these days Toyota,Honda, & Nissan sell fully loaded cars & suv that are totally loaded to the bone with full options that could be Luxo if they decided to swap the cars BADGES.

Same for the 997 GT3, this is done to save weight......simply re-tuning the 997 turbo is enough to make it the fastest Porsche in production however, regardless of its AWD.
It's just a matter of preference really......some people get used to AWD, some people like getting sideways

Just because you dont like the NSX or S2000, does not make them irrelevant.
I compared 90ies Ferrari's interior to the NSX interior, which also debuted in 1991.
These days, yep, very much so. In the past however Honda/Acura had plenty of awesome cars... in fact, all of their cars used to be awesome excluding the Isuzy SUV rebadges.

Who cares if more power is delivered to the front when your coasting down a dry highway or going 30 mph in the city and driving lawfully?
When the AWD is needed at it's optimal ratio, it happens. More power is easily delivered to the rear if sensors deem it necessary.
Your argument makes absolutely no sense in saying that Acura's AWD line is really FWD because well, you don't like Acura.
OK, Mercedes is a econo-box company. If this is the logic we're spewing.

AWD is for playing in the sand. Real performance cars like Ferrari, CGT, GT2, GT3 virtually all racecars use RWD. RWD is just faster in the dry.
Only the weak inferior brands Acura, Audi, Lamborghini with their inferior cars cling to AWD. the GT-R is the only AWD performance car done properly.

You mean the same GT-R with the exploding AWD transmission
With all do respect, you are fail
