VW slams the Prius [again]

With all the attention VW has been putting on Toyota, and Audi on Lexus, Toyota must be very flattered. The fact that we are seeing a lot of VW and Toyota comparisons shows that VW treats Toyota as a very serious competitor, and acknowledges Toyota's large presence in the world market.

P.S. the only thing to watch out from Honda is the which will come first - a press release to announce something that'll ultimately never happen or a press release to flip flop on something previous announced.

yes and but mostly no!! the ev1 does not use liquid fuel so it can not be directly measured in gallons. when mpg is mentioned people assume mile's per gallon of gasoline. since no gasoline is used and it does not use the gallon as a form of measuring energy reserve's it does not and will not get a mpg figure. if it were to get infinity to the gallon theyre would have to be a gallon in the first place to work with.

that's not a direct comparison.
Popular Mechanics did one and the 2G Prius killed the Jetta TDI in city mileage and I'd imagine the 3G will match the Jetta on the highway.

Mr. Jones, thanks for that, the conclusion seemd to confirm the obvious:
"But tax credits aside, when it comes down to which of these two popular efficient cars is more fun and more comfortable to drive everyday, it's an easy pick: We like the Jetta TDi, and the fuel-economy numbers in the real world for VW's new player make it—gasp!—a legit Prius fighter. "
The Jetta also outperformed the Prius on the highway? Why so quick to rush out with the next generation Prius comparisons? The Jetta has been available for upwards of two decades achieving this same mileage? So wouldn't Toyota be the one a little late to the 45mpg club? Just saying.

Any variable divided by 0 is undefined, not infinity.
And "undefined" describes the energy consumption of an electric powertrain - the juice comes from somewhere.

Algebraic:
12 divided by 6 is 2 because
6 times 2 is 12
12 divided by 0 is x would mean that
0 times x = 12
so it would be undefined.
Calculus:
using limits blah blah blah, you get either negative, positive, or unsigned infinity. As it approaches infinity.
of course x/0, we have to assume x doesn't equal 0, or else that would be a different story.
