What's that thing on that man's shirt?

Oh! A VW logo!

Yes I am convinced, Jetta FTW and Prius FTL...

why the outrage? You did read the title of this thread, didn't you? It's spelt out pretty clearly, " VW" Slams the Prius. Not FKL, not smokey the bear. LOL

Shame the Jetta looks like a Corolla lol. Its clear in America, people prefer hybrids to diesels. VW/Audi seems to have some sort of new crush on Toyota/Lexus with their ads. IMO its great there is a diesel option and a hybrid option. Video is funny though lol

Not sure why but i found it pretty interesting/funny

Kinda reminds me of the Prius vs M3 segment that Top Gear did

I like how they scale the bar graphs such that even if the difference is about 10% or less the bar graphs make the difference look like a factor of 2.

I can now spot why the Jetta costs so more than the Corolla. One looks like a toy, the other, a miniature Audi. Ok, I know I'm being wayy too harsh.

I just thought the video was a little funny, especially the end. There's also three other "tdi truth" videos on youtube. I wasn't trying to bag on the Prius!

Some things to keep in mind - that Jetta TDI was rolling on 18s and was a stick.

With all the attention VW has been putting on Toyota, and Audi on Lexus, Toyota must be very flattered. The fact that we are seeing a lot of VW and Toyota comparisons shows that VW treats Toyota as a very serious competitor, and acknowledges Toyota's large presence in the world market.

lol wow they are desperate. But hey, VW does want to beat Toyota. Didn't they have a game plan? At least they were "fairer" in choosing the Touring model with the larger, wider tyres but that's no match for the 18" rims (which I'm sure is a Dealer-installed Accessory, not a factory spec) on the Jetta. And every time they do a Jetta TDI vs. Prius, they always go for the manual despite the fact that 99% of Americans drive automatics and the Prius is an automatic.

lol, what a bunch of tossers

skidpad, .83gs vs .81gs
1/4 mile 16.5 vs 17.8 seconds
slalom 60.1 vs 58.4 mph

Who are they trying to kid? Apart from that they put a lard **** in the prius.

I'm not saying the Prius is a performer, I mean c'mon who are we kidding, but it goes to show how hard the diesel Jetta sucks

lol lol lol

LOL, the difference is almost negligible (especially factoring in driver skills, it might be the opposite). Btw, they forgot one extra test: time spent at the dealer.

How was that a fair match-up?

Let's take the Audi A8 and compare it to the Avalon next time!
