Hello! the new CAFE law is at dawn and rising fast! "America must downsize!" i would call a yaris hatch, with AWD turbo charged do 13sec 1/4 mile and daily drive 35mpg, a sportcar all day long! old aged muscle gas-demons' days is numbered! and "America will comply!"

IIIIIII hate to say it, but Toyota making any kind of sports car is totally becoming like Acura and the NSX ... it's coming ...
I also can't ge on board with an iQ-based sports car ... that's a golf cart, I don't want a sporty-ish golf cart.

we're becoming europe so fast it's not funny...
slow tiny turbo'ed economboxes will be considered sports cars, and the regulations, fines, speed traps, and cameras will make using them miserable anyway.

I do agree about the regs, fines, cameras and other BS.

toyota should bring the MR2 back...
small, light, 2 door MR sports runabout with a targa top and a choice of 2 4cyl engines, one N/A and one boosted...
add a bunch of options and TRD parts and price it somewhere in the 20-25k range...
instant hit.
and bring back the lexus SC....the real SC...2 door coupes based off the GS platform.

wow, my thread blew up.
It's BASED off the iQ. No one said it'll be the iQ with a 6MT like MR F1 posted Even if it is FF, a lightweight compact coupe of some sort would be sweet IMO (anyone remember the ABC of the K car from the 90s?).
It said it's based off the iQ so I am assuming it'll be FF but Toyota to bring out a 3 pedal car is something. I think this is positive news, a nice refreshing change from all the one box minivans every one makes now.

Seriously though, Toyota needs something slick, sporty & rwd, aand anything based off the FF iQ platform will not be that. I'm content to wait for what the Toyubaru coupe has to offer, It should appear at the Tokyo autoshow.
