It's nifty & obviously less stupid looking than the smart, but I also expected the door on the front of the car. This maybe should be called something else because it's not really the same car.

Maybe BMW heard Toyota is coming with an IQ-based sports car with a manual transmission so they felt they needed something to compete with that...
Could they still run that add with the retarded looking rabbit that stated something along the lines of "this is why we don't do fwd" if this car makes it to the market?

The BMW Isetta? That vehicle wasn't a BMW at all. It was literally a license-built Iso Isetta from Italy.
BMW needed an affordable car to make profit because the 501/502 models had been a sales flop and the firm was short on cash. They contacted ISO down in Italy and arranged to produced their ISO Isetta in Germany under license. The rest is history as they say.
