VW and audi design the hottest bodies

I'll let Audi do their thing.
In all honestly, as nice as they look to us enthusiasts, they are polarizing away from the average consumer, which is typically a family-oriented consumer that want function over form, value over style.

What? VW looks like Toyotas with the Jetta. The Passat looks like a weirder GS. Audi's look nice but outside the R8, all look way to similar. If Lexus did that, people would bish "all lexus look alike".
I like the style from both brands. I love the S8, S5, R8, the rest of the lineup does not much for me. I love the IS, GS, IS-F, the rest of the lineup is okay to me.
If you look at stock VWs/Audis with their 15" plastic wheels and non S-line kits, they leave a lot to be desired.
I fear where this thread is going to go

A8 looks like a bigger A6 and A6 looks like a A4 so A8 looks like a gigantic A4...
If I am in the snow-belt then Audi is the way to go, Here in the sunny So Cal? AWD = dead weight to me. Also not a huge fan of Audi styling, they tend to give people a WOW factor at first but leave a lot to be desired over time. Lexus has conservative styling but they are elegent inoffensive and can be accepted by the majority of the population. Some of the BMWs might give you a WTF at first but they age well over time, the current 3-series and 5-series are really growing on me but too bad the interiors still turn me off big time.
The bottom line is, if you like Audi then buy it, don't drive something you don't like.

I'm a CAR GUY and I confuse the new A4/old A6/ new A6, old A4, A8 all the time. It pisses me off b/c I'm supposed to tell the difference. I think they look fine and amazingly do well considering their front wheel drive front end/overhang proportions.
I DO like the fact though Audi has resisted trends outside the giant gaping grill and stayed mostly away from random lines, ugliness, huge arches, etc. BMW/benz has lost me as of late for the most part. Thats why I like Lexus styling, its classy and doesn't scream "hey look at me".

Out of the Audi line up, I think the TT, A/S5, and the R8 are definitely lookers, but the rest of them are blah. Audi designs tend to be really clean, but also very conservative. VWs on the other hand have gotten worse in recent years... otherwise they wouldn't have revamped their design language.
