what a surprise ... the bimmer won. I would take the 370Z in a second. The 1 series is busted.

the Z profile almost looks like an aston in the first pic.

i like the Z best.

genesis still looks like an angry squinty eyed sumo in every picture on the web

i prefer the mustang's looks out of all of them for some reason.

the 3 imports are hurting my eyes >_<

why isn't the camaro there?

i'd like to see how it fairs against them in a comparo

Nice read! Thanks. I knew the 1er won as soon as I saw which mag this came from. They might as well call it the "Winding Road by BMW". If Hyundai re-badged their Genesis into a BMW it woulda got 2nd place for sure. ha ha.

The simple fact that I think my 335i rides borderline too harsh, and that every article I've read that talks about the 1-series' ride says it rides worse than the 3-series, and that this article says the 1-series rides better than all the other cars in this competition tells me straight up that I should never consider buying any of the cars in this article.

Though I did once have a 2009 Mustang rental car for 6 weeks while my car was getting fixed from a wreck. It actually rode pretty smoothly. It was a base V6 though... 16" wheels, non sport suspension, etc...

C&D rates the Z first place in front of the BMW 135i....
i would take the Z over a lot of other cars in its class...

I would take the Z too!

What was the order of the other cars? Don't feel like reading the rest of the article...

I've driven the 330i it feels nowhere near as quick as the G37. I thought it felt weak and slow.

No chance the 128i feels anywhere near as quick as the 370Z. Terrible review, the 330i's engine sounded about as sporty as a V6 Camry. Something like an industrial machine. I like how the reviewer pretends it sounds like an Italian V12.

Overall a pretty useless review full of BMW fanboism. At least the BMW got rid of the junky MacPherson strut in the 7-series.

I always get the mustang convertible on vacation ( mostly brcause its nicer than a jeep) and its a POS. I come home and jump in the Lexus and feel like I am driving a Rolls Royce. The idea of dropping a V8 into that chasis and some leather doesnt seem to inviting to me at all.

whoever thinks the mustang is the best looking car in the group is nuts. Z looks way better.

Cannot believe BMW is trying to market another $40,000 compact sport sedan in the US. Didnt they fail in segment before already?
