Radar Detector?
Hi guys I have a 2009 GS 350 and want to purchase a radar detectar and wanted to know where can I order one on-line as they don't sell them in stores in Canada. I want one that's discreet that the police cannot detect from their detector.

valentine 1
get the valentine 1 that is what I used to have and never got a ticket with it. I ended up selling it to someone in this forum after the cops took my gs430. But if you want something that no one can see you have to pay for the passport one that is embeded in the car and is expensive

Thanks Krava. So where can I find the valentine 1 on-line as I see so many different and I don't know what is what as I've never used one before. The main reason I want 1 is becuase in Ontario Canada your car gets taken if you go over 40km/h the speed limit.

The RMR-C450 is what you want. "Note that it has a scrambler so if that is illegal where you are then you might want to consider something else."
The same engineers that made the Laser and Radar equipment for the USPD started this company.
For $250 the C450 kills the competition!
I hardwired mine 4 years ago and it's tucked up behind the mirror on the pasenger side which is barely visable; I can't tell it's even there except for when it talks to me. Very clean and very accurate. Stays quiet unless there really is something to worry about. I have never had a speeding ticket using one and I speed all of the time. They even pay for your ticket if you get a speeding violation using their detector.
The Valentine 1 works but for the money the RMR-C450 is the better buy for sure.......

What I meant was they don't sell them in stores in my province of Ontario as they are illegal last time I checked.
Thanks for the info guys, also need to know if these things are easy to install in your car and do all of them have to placed on your windsheild or can you use it from inside your car?

I have the v1 also, which prob everyone here either has a passport x*500 or a valentine1. I'd have to say, getting this as a gift after I got two tickets has to be the best radar in my opinion because of the directional arrows. I have mines up by the mirrior and a concealed display. Order it off valentine1.com, to make sure one you by isn't stolen and in perfect condition.

you should not get the radar detectors that you mount on the windshield or on the visor; you will get busted if the OPP pulls you over. you definitely want the one that is customed installed like the escort 9500ci. custom installed detectors are expensive to buy and somewhat expensive to install; but you need the stealth factor, so this is the only way to go.

I think they are legal in Alberta as some Provinces they are and some they are not and Ontario they are illegal.
So how much does a built in detector cost to purchase & install? Since I live in Ontario I know getting one will be hard to come by.

Thanks for the info. So I guess you live in Ontario as well. Did you pay to have the detector installed as well or did you have someone install it for you. I saw the link and they are pretty pricey. Also I was thinking if I purchase one that gets mounted if it's easy to take off when I don't want to use it or say if if I am getting pulled over can I just grab it and put in my pocket so the cop doesn't see it when he approaches the car.

find a reputable car audio shop to install it for you. don't go cheap on the install, you will regret it later. the best install is the one that looks oem and can't be seen with a casual search. the car audio shop should be able to order one in for you.
